Backstory
With this painting I wanted to represent what was my life. After 44 years together with my partner, I left my beloved Sicily (Italy) to move to Spain arrived here everything happened to me. The first three months were a catastrophe in all fields, working, bureaucratic, and to make matters worse I separated from my partner after 23 years. I was left alone in a country, in a city that is not mine and where I still do not I know nobody. I was really sick. Then I said to myself .. Alessandro to come and live in Spain was always your dream and don't let anyone destroy it ... And here's why the title: As the caterpillar dies to give life to the butterfly so the old Alessandro gives way to the new one. I wanted to represent this transition from caterpillar to butterfly.
