Each piece in the Loner series shows us a different side of loneliness, using the relationship between him and what’s going on in the window to represent his relationship with the outside world. “The Napping Man” is more about depression as a side of loneliness. The kind of depression that makes you want to stay inside and sleep away a beautiful day outside.
