“The Skinny Man” is a visual double metaphor. It’s symbolic of my personal history with body issues. The first metaphor is how he’s shielding his skeleton in shame, like an exposed person trying to hide their naked body. This is symbolic of the insecurity I used to feel regarding my skinny body.
But the second metaphor is how instead of hiding himself with clothing, he’s covering himself with his naked skin itself. This is symbolic of my growth and learning to be comfortable in my own skin.
