"So this is a part of a series of two people kissing, called "Smooches." It's a series of all different types of people coming together in one of the most intimate moments that we share with another person.

And this one particularly is about when you're coming together with someone you love and all of the focus from being in the world, all of a sudden dissipates. And you become one with that person.

So there's a real looseness to the top of the painting where their heads are almost merging, and they're coming together."
