The Weight of The Full Moon
“The Weight of The Full Moon” is the first in a new series of paintings called “Night Lights”, in which the moon, in all of its phases, overpowers a human-made light. Here, the Full Moon's bright, blue glow dims the light beam projecting from the lighthouse. I painted swirling movement in the clouds and crashing waves to represent the weight of the moon.
My purpose for this series is to portray the smallness and insignificance of humanity in comparison to the grand scale of the universe.
